High rate of anal warts in HIV+ gay and straight men: Barcelona

One quarter of HIV-positive men in a Barcelona study group had anal condylomata—anal warts caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection that can lead to anal cancer. ECDC guidance on HPV vaccination: Focus on reaching all girls

The ECDC has published updated Guidance on human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines in Europe, which recommends that public health initiatives continue to focus on vaccinating girls aged 10-14 before the onset of sexual activity. The Guidance reports that in spite of the benefits of the vaccination, current economic models show that including boys in the current HPV vaccination programmes is unlikely to be cost-effective.
